First words

  • Mood:

Shannon  has just recently said her first words - Mum, Mina (the name of our dog, who she adores) and Hi There, which truly made my day, because she picked that up from me...
In the past few days she has started standing in her cot. She's such a joy to have and is a happy, smiling little girl with a infectious giggle, she's beautiful.

Her thhird tooth is nearly through now.

Johnny Depp in York

  • Mood:

Was in the York local evening press that Johnny Depp has sent some people that work for him to take a look at all the fitness centres in York for him so he can find out which to use to go to and work out while in York a while.

He's in York this summer time filming, he's starring in the remake of Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory, with him playing Willy Wonka,  which is being filmed at Nestle Rowntrees.

I like Johnny Depp.

Ahh so cute

  • Mood:
  • Music:

When Kathrynn was here saturday to monday, Shannon was making the sounds of attempted words and making the Mmm Mmm sound at tries to say mummy.

She's very fond of Mina, and whenever Mina is near her she reaches her arms out for her. She breaks out in a wide smile whenever she sees her and when Mina licks her, because Mina is fond of her too, Shannon afterwards laughs and giggles. Ahh it's so cute and lovely to see just how they like each other. Mina comes over all motherly and protective when Shannon's here, if she hears her cry, she rushes over to make sure she's alright and goes to one of us like in Lassie to have someone follow her because she cried for something, like dropped her toy.....

Mina's walk on the Knavesmire

  • Mood:

Michael took our dog Mina for her walk on the Knavesmire , which is the York Racecourse, whatever the weather she gets her 2 long walks a day.

Today there is a very strong wind, bit of a gale they said on TV and also rain. There was therefore only one other person there walking her dog, other than Michael.

Michaels has seen her a few times walking her dog and talked with her a couple of times. She has Multiple Sclerosis and walks with a pair of elbow crutches, today in the wind and rain se was slow at taking one careful step at a time and getting thoroughly soaked by the time she got to er car.

Felt sorry for her struggling in the harsh wind, but when someone takes their dog for their walk in bad weather, it shows their devotion.

Theirs usually quite a few people walking their dogs there, today there was only this woman on elbow crutches and Michael.

We think it puts to shame a lot of the people that go there. They prefered to stay at home, where it was warm and dry, rather than walk their dogs, and there was nothing physically wrong with them.

Michael just phoned on his mobile to say he's waiting for Simon to come out of work, he's picking him up, and a Victorian looking lamp post has just gone over in the wind. http://www.yorkracecourse.co.uk/

So touching

  • Mood:
Michael was ill for about 4 days with that bad somach and sickness bug that's been going around. Shannon was here over the weekend and was lying on the settee, Michael said 'I feel awful Shannon' and she turned, looked at him, reached her hand out towards him and stroked his face and smiled. That is so touching.

Baby Shannon

  • Mood:

My baby granddaughter is staying with us a couple of days. She's been laughing and smiling, always happy, well most of the time. Se was sat on my knee earlier, watching Shrek, she likes that, couldn't take her little eyes off it. She's watching 101 Dalmations now before teatime.

She's such a pretty little angel.

Strange weather

Such weird weather. Yesterday would you believe there was a little bit of snow. Soon melted on its way down, but in March! It's like in December you'd think it was springtime.
